In Brief: Securities Firm Analysts Switch Assignments

Analyst Susan L. Roth will pick up coverage of the major banks at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc., according to an internal memo.

Ms. Roth, who has been with Donaldson for two years and covers credit card issuers and finance companies, will replace controversial bank analyst Thomas K. Brown, who left Donaldson abruptly in late March and recently joined Tiger Management Corp.

Ms. Roth will be assisted by Chris Morgan, an associate at DLJ, who is being promoted to analyst.

At UBS Securities Inc., veteran bank analyst Anthony R. Davis will switch to coverage of real estate investment trusts in the fall. Mr. Davis joined UBS after it announced plans to acquire Swiss Bank Corp., a deal that resulted in significant layoffs.

Dean Eberling joined Putnam, Lovell, de Guardiola & Thornton Inc. in early May as a managing director. Mr. Eberling, formerly of Salomon Smith Barney Inc., covers asset managers, and major brokerages.

Guy Moszkowski, formerly of Sanford C. Bernstein, succeeded Mr. Eberling at Salomon.
