Home sales in south Florida reached the highest level in four years, according to TRW Redi Property Data.

Between January and April, more than 27,000 single-family and condominium escrows closed in Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach counties, an increase of 18% from the same period last year. Average prices rose 4.8% during that period.

Home sales rose 22% in Broward County, 20% in Palm Beach, and 13% in Dade, according to the real estate information company. Price hikes were sharpest in Dade County, with the average home appreciating 8.2%. In Broward County, prices rose 3.0%, and in Palm Beach County, they rose 2.6%.
