CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- First Union Corp. announced Thursday that the Spanish-language pages added last month to the company's Web site are among its most frequently visited.

The pages include sections on products and services, financial planning guides, and customer service, as well as an ATM locator, a corporate overview, and a welcome page. Within the next year First Union plans to add a banking glossary, a community interest/news section, and an expanded customer support area.

First Union also offers Spanish-language capabilities on its automated teller machines and its telephone information system.

Kellie Scott, director of First Union's eChannels division, said the company is hoping to use its Web site "to target different market segments and further enhance customer service through technology."
