CHARLOTTE, N.C. - First Union Corp. on Wednesday announced managerial changes aimed at revamping its technology and operations division.
Sue Perrotty, executive vice president of the general banking group's Pennsylvania and Delaware region, will lead the bank's operations division, which oversees First Union's transaction processing. She will report directly to Kenneth Thompson, chief executive officer.
David Carroll, executive vice president and chief e-commerce officer, will add overall responsibility for technology and continue to report to Mr. Thompson.
Austin Adams, who headed the bank's automation and operations division, has accepted a new role as executive vice president and head of technology and operations at Bank One.
Ms. Perrotty joined First Union in 1981. Her duties have included distribution and operations and her titles have included chief information and technology officer.
Mr. Carroll has spent more than 20 years at First Union and is head of specialty finance as well as chief e-commerce officer.
