In Brief: Telebank, Yahoo Team Up on Data Access

Telebank said Wednesday that it will gives its customers access to their account information via Yahoo Finance and My Yahoo Web pages.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Telebank customers will be able to view recent transactions and balances for savings, certificates of deposit, and checking accounts on the Yahoo pages.

Mitchell H. Caplan, president and chief executive officer of the Arlington, Va.-based subsidiary of TeleBanc Financial Corp., said the relationship with Yahoo Inc. is a "powerful account acquisition tool for Telebank."

Bank of America announced a similar relationship with Santa Clara-based Yahoo this month that is expected to let California residents view their checking and savings account balances, transaction histories, and credit card account data on Yahoo Finance and My Yahoo pages. Yahoo users also will be able to link to Bank of America's Web site for bill payment and on- line transfers.
