In Brief: Turnaround Continues At California's CU

ENCINO, Calif - CU Bancorp posted its second full year of profitability after a near-disastrous 1992. The holding company for California United Bank earned $2.6 million in 1994, a 23.8% increase over the previous year.

"The strength of our performance during 1994 affirms the strategy we defined two-and-a-half years ago," said Stephen G. Carpenter, chief executive. "Staying focused on the middle market, and committed to a discipline of credit quality and cost control is paying off for us in solid earnings and growth."
