In Brief: Two Opteum Execs to Share COO Job

Opteum Inc. of Vero Beach, Fla., has promoted Robert Filiberto and G. Hunter Haas 4th to co-chief operating officers of the real estate investment trust's mortgage unit.

They succeeded Martin J. Levine, the co-founder of Opteum Financial Services LLC, who retired from his COO job at the Paramus, N.J., unit but will remain an executive vice president.

Mr. Filiberto had been a senior vice president and the chief servicing and technology officer at the unit. Mr. Haas had been a senior vice president and head of mortgage research.

Last month Opteum announced that it had sold a 7.5% stake in the unit to Citigroup Inc. for $4.1 million, and that it had amended a credit agreement with Citi to reduce the unit's borrowing costs.
