In Brief: UBS Asset Management Has Canada Deal

ZURICH — UBS Asset Management, a division of Swiss banking giant Union Bank of Switzerland, said on Wednesday that it has agreed to buy the institutional asset management business of Royal Bank of Canada for $230 million.

The deal for RT Capital Management, which manages about $20 billion, is expected to close by Sept. 30, pending regulatory approval.

UBS Asset Management had $369 billion of assets under management at March 31.
