In Brief: U.K. Lenders to Get Fair, Isaac Scores

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Fair, Isaac & Co., which provides lenders with scores to assess creditworthiness, has formed a partnership with a new British consumer credit bureau named Callcredit to deliver consumer credit scores over the Web to U.K. lenders beginning in June.

The companies say that the United Kingdom’s credit reference market is growing fast and that 140 million credit applications a year are processed there. Callcredit, which was created by a partnership between Dun & Bradstreet and Skipton Building Society, is competing against two of the top three U.S. credit bureaus, Equifax Inc. and Experian Inc.

Fair, Isaac and Callcredit say they will offer pure scores to lenders, instead of the proprietary credit scores used by Equifax and Experian.
