COLUMBUS, Ga. The credit card processor Total System Services Inc. will offer U.S. and U.K. card issuers a full selection of products and services, from card manufacturing and personalization to smart-card technology, through a multiyear alliance with ID Data Limited Services, a British smart-card technology vendor.
Total System says the collaboration is meant to enhance its offerings for European issuers.
ID Data will perform an important role in our service offering, said Roger Van Scoy, senior director of Total System Services Europe. Their industry-leading capabilities in card personalization and smart-card production made them the best choice as an alliance partner in Europe.
Paul Knight, deputy chief executive officer of ID Data Systems, said the deal creates a new force in card processing and supply in Europe.
By combining TSYS world-class processing systems with ID Datas industry leading smart-card production capability, a fully integrated service will be available to banks and financial institutions as they move into smart-card issuance, he said.
