SAN FRANCISCO — Visa U.S.A. and Sprint have signed a deal to develop joint consumer promotions at Sprint retail stores, online through, and on Visa’s Web site.

The companies said the partnership, announced Wednesday, is meant to bring wireless e-commerce transactions into the mainstream while boosting Visa sales as well as the sales of Sprint products and services.

Sprint will be able to target more than 344 million U.S. Visa cardholders through promotions with Visa’s member financial institutions.
