In Brief: Wells Credits Rational Software for Gains

LEXINGTON, Mass. - Wells Fargo & Co. said it has enhanced its ability to develop applications and introduce products by adopting software from Rational Software.

Wells said that using Rational's ClearCase and ClearQuest software has improved workflow management and communication among members of its software development team and has cut the number of steps needed to develop products.

Wells said it expects that using Rational's software will produce a 50% increase in software development productivity.

"Software development is a core part of our business," said Raymond Magpantay, vice president and technology manager at Wells. "Wells Fargo relies on Rational products and services to support the majority of our mission-critical applications."
