In Brief: Wingspan to Begin P-to-P E-Payments

CHICAGO - WingspanBank.com, the Internet subsidiary of Bank One Corp., plans to introduce its own version of its parent company's person-to-person electronic payment service within the next two weeks.

Wingspan will offer eMoneyMail for free to its online banking customers and for $4.95 a transaction to noncustomers. Bank One charges $1 per payment for the service.

Kevin Watters, senior vice president of marketing and product development for Wingspan, said the Internet subsidiary is pricing its service differently than the parent company because it will tie in different features over the coming months. He declined to comment on the enhancements.

Wingspan will market its eMoneyMail service through various online companies, including America Online and Lycos.
