In Brief: Zions in Deal for Minnequa, a Colo. Bank

SALT LAKE CITY - Zions Bancorp announced late Tuesday that it had agreed to buy Minnequa Bancorp Inc. of Pueblo, Colo., and to merge it into its subsidiary Vectra Bank Colorado.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Minnequa Bank of Pueblo, the bank unit of Minnequa Bancorp, has about $292 million of deposits and five banking offices.

Zions, a Salt Lake City banking company with $22 billion of assets, said it will use purchase accounting for the deal, which is expected to close in the fourth quarter and to be immediately accretive to earnings per share.
