In Briefs: State Regulator Named Ohio Bank's President

Citizens Bancshares has named a state banking regulator president-designate of its banking subsidiary.

Richard L. Hardgrove, deputy superintendent of the Ohio Division of Financial Institutions, is to become president of $1.8 billion-asset Citizens Banking Co. Mr. Hardgrove, former chief executive of First National Bank of Ohio in Akron and a past president of the Ohio Bankers Association, is to succeed Marty E. Adams.

Mr. Adams will remain president of the holding company until its merger next month with MidAm Inc. of Bowling Green, Ohio. Mr. Adams will then become president and chief operating officer of the combined $4.6 billion- asset company, which will be renamed Sky Financial Group.
