In Briefs: Wisconsin Bank Moves To Buy Branch in Iowa

Fortress Bancshares has announced a definitive agreement to acquire its first branch in Iowa.

The company, intends to acquire the $34 million-asset Cresco, Iowa, branch office of Boatmen's Bank of North Iowa. The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to close in the third quarter.

Fortress also owns $30 million-asset Houston Security Bank in Houston, Minn., and $70 million-asset Westby-Coon Valley State Bank, Westby, Wis. The Iowa bank is about 38 miles southwest of Houston.
