Invesco's ex-chief, John Butler, retires.

John M. Butler, former chairman and president of Invesco Funds Group, is retiring after more than 30 years in the mutual fund industry.

Mr. Butler joined the Denver-based company in 1963, and held a variety of posts. Most recently, he was president of Invesco's 25 no-load mutual funds.

Dan J. Hesser, Invesco's chairman, has been named Mr. Butler's successor as president of the funds.

In addition to promoting mutual funds for his employer, Mr. Butler was a spokesman for the industry. He was on the board of governors of the Investment Company Institute and was chairman of the Mutual Fund Education Alliance.
