Iroquois hires R.D. Callahan as president, chief executive.

Richard D. Callahan is the new president and chief executive officer of Iroquois Bancorp and its lead bank, Cayuga Savings Bank, Auburn, N.Y.

He succeeds Joseph P. Ganey, who has returned to retirement. Mr. Ganey will continue as chairman of the thrift holding company and lead bank.

Mr. Callaban was senior executive vice president, operations and marketing, at Marine Midland Bank, Buffalo, a unit of HSBC Holdings PLC, London. Earlier in his 10 years at the bank he was regional president and division executive in Syracuse, N.Y.

He also has 16 years' experience in community banking. He has been a banker since 1966.

Cayuga Savings also said that Monica Bryla, vice president of community banking, has retired after 35 years of service.
