Loan Terminal Maker Beefs Up Executive Team

Affinity Technology Group Inc., which makes automated loan terminals, has hired five executives to strengthen its technological and marketing capabilities.

The company, about two years old, completed its first public offering April 26. Its customers include Banco Popular, Banc One Corp., Union Planters Corp., and Carolina First Corp.

Thomas E. Persons, 50, who was general manager for AT&T's South Atlantic area since 1990, is now executive vice president at Affinity. He is responsible for all sales activities.

Leonard J. McCahill, who comes from Citibank, is vice president of underwriting information services. Mr. McCahill, 52, had been the bank's vice president and deputy division credit officer of its Latin American consumer bank. He will be responsible for implementing customer credit- scoring systems at Affinity.

John D. Rogers, 52, formerly executive vice president of Bisys Information Services Group Inc., is now president of Affinity Processing Corp., Affinity's software subsidiary.

Thomas J. Murray, 51, is president of Affinity Mortgage Technology Corp., a newly formed subsidiary that aims to build on Affinity's relationships with mortgage lenders. Mr. Murray was president of T. J. Murray Co., a Colorado-based mortgage consultant.

Howard S. Kossak is vice president of corporate development, focusing on identifying, structuring, and closing strategic relationships. Mr. Kossak, 55, was senior vice president of strategic planning at Checkfree Corp.
