Merrill Names Williamson CEO Of International Banking Unit

Merrill Lynch & Co., has named Robert W. Williamson as president and chief executive of Merrill Lynch International Bank Inc., New York, which provides foreign exchange currency and options trading services.

Mr. Williamson was senior vice president and chief credit officer for Merrill Lynch & Co.

He joined the company in 1977 as executive director of the international bank in London, and became the bank's managing director in both London and New York.

He was chairman of Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific/Hong Kong for two years, until 1985, when he was named senior vice president of the capital markets proprietary investments and credit group.

Mr. Williamson will report to John G. Heimann, the chairman of the international bank, and Herbert M. Allison, executive vice president of Merrill Lynch's corporate and institutional client group.
