Money market mutual fund assets rose 0.24%, to $1.3434 trillion, in the week that ended Oct. 29, the Investment Company Institute reported. Most of the rise was in institutional portfolios, which grew 0.44%, to $540.27 billion. That includes $493.30 billion in taxable funds, up $3.26 billion, and $46.97 billion in tax-exempt funds, down $889 million. Retail money market assets rose 0.11%, to $803.14 billion. Taxable funds held $662.44 billion, up $920 million. Tax-exempt funds had $140.70 billion, down $76 million.
