Wachovia Bancorp's former general bank president, Ben Jenkins, has joined Morgan Stanley as a senior adviser, the Charlotte Observer reported Wednesday, citing a Morgan Stanley spokesman.

Jenkins will help the company expand its retail banking operations.

He follows other former Wachovia executives Cece Sutton and Jon Witter to Morgan Stanley following Wells Fargo & Co.'s takeover of Wachovia.

Will Howle, the former head of Wachovia's retail and small-business segments, will also join Morgan Stanley, the newspaper reported.
