N.J. Bankers Choose Garber As Chairman

Richard P. Garber, president of Broad National Bank, Newark, has been elected chairman of the New Jersey Bankers Association for the years 1991 and 1992.

Mr. Garber succeeds John Kay, president of Shrewsbury State Bank, Shrewsbury.

Elected vice chairman of the bankers association was Robert G. Cox, president of Summit Trust Co., Summit.

Theodore D. Bessler, president of Garden State Bank, Jackson, has been elected treasurer of the association.

Elected to a one-year term on the executive committee was Aristides W. Georgantas, president of Chemical Bank New Jersey, East Brunswick.

Elected to three-year terms on the committee were: Frank A. Kissel, president, Peapack-Gladstone Bank, Gladstone; Clarence D. McCormick, president, Farmers and Merchants National Bank, Bridgeton; Desmond P. McDonald, president, Midlantic National Bank, Edison; L. Douglas O'Brien, president, National Westminster Bank NJ, Jersey City; and Anthony P. Terracciano, chairman, First Fidelity Bank New Jersey, Newark.

Robert C. Forrey is president of the bankers association, which is based in Princeton.
