N.J.'s Summit Bancorp Names Paul V. Stahlin As Controller

Summit Bancorp in Princeton, N.J., has promoted Paul V. Stahlin to controller.

The former director of accounting and financial reporting succeeded senior executive vice president John R. Haggerty, who retired.

Mr. Haggerty was also chief financial officer, a title now held by executive vice president William J. Healy.

Mr. Stahlin, who was also named chief accounting officer, will oversee corporate reporting and become the liaison for financial analysts. He remains a senior vice president as well as a director of several Summit units and treasurer of the company's nonbank subsidiaries.

He joined Summit's predecessor United Jersey Bank in 1980. Earlier he worked at Price Waterhouse LLP.
