Norwest Colorado names Bear Valley's president.

Jim Snow has been named president of Norwest Bank Bear Valley, Denver, a unit of Norwest Colorado Inc.

Mr. Snow, who had been executive vice president, succeeds Kyle McClaugherty, who retired after 23 years with the $145 million-asset bank.

Mr. Snow has been with the Norwest organization in Colorado for 19 years. He began his career with the First National Bank of Denver in 1978 as a member of its management training program.

Since then he has worked for Security Bank of Boulder and Intrawest Bank of Bear Valley. The bank was part of Intrawest Financial Corp., which was bought by United Banks of Colorado in 1987.

United Banks, in turn, was acquired by Norwest Corp., Minneapolis, in 1991. The names of the banks were subsequently changed to Norwest.

Before that, in 1988, Mr. Snow had transferred to United Bank of Boulder, where he worked until earlier this year when he returned to Norwest Bank Bear Valley. The bank was charted in 1964 as the First National Bank of Bear Valley.
