Norwest trims rates on credit cards.

MINNEAPOLIS - Norwest Card Services has lowered its credit card interest rates in the wake of last week's half-point cut in the prime lending rate.

The unit of Minneapolis-based Norwest Corp. dropped its rate on regular MasterCard and Visa cards to 15%, from 15.5%. Gold cards came down to 13.4%, from 13.9%.

Norwest bases its card rates on the prime and adjust them quarterly. It made the latest reduction three months ahead of the next scheduled adjustment date, Oct 1.
