N.Y.'s Wyoming County Bank Hires Ranger As President

Robert W. Ranger, a former executive of Fleet Financial Group banks in New York State, has been elected president and chief operating officer of Wyoming County Bank, Warsaw, N.Y., a unit of Financial Institutions Inc.. Warsaw.

Mr. Ranger was most recently responsible for consumer lending and Community Reinvestment Act activities at Fleet Bank of New York.

He was also regional president of Fleet Bank of Central New York and directed many facets of the operations, consumer, commercial and agricultural lending, personnel, and sales departments.

Mr. Ranger, a banker for 35 years, succeeds Peter G. Humphrey as president of Wyoming County Bank.

Members of the Humphrey family have directed it since 1871. Peter Humphrey was the fourth to do so, succeeding his father, W.J. Humphrey Jr., as president.

The younger Mr. Humphrey has now succeeded his father as chairman and chief executive. The senior Mr. Humphrey remains chairman of the holding company, which also owns National Bank of Geneva, N.Y.; Pavilion (N.Y.) State Bank, and Salamanca (N.Y.) Trust.
