Pacific Mercantile Bank, a $35 million-asset start-up in Newport Beach, Calif., has elected Richard M. Torre as vice chairman.
The bank opened for business March 1.
Mr. Torre is chairman, president, and CEO of Global Capital Markets, a merger and acquisition consulting firm that specializes in companies with $10 million to $200 million of annual revenue.
Earlier he was a senior vice president and general manager of Bank of Virginia's Canadian Affiliates Factors Co. and a senior credit officer at CoreStates Financial Corp.'s Congress Financial. Both of the parent companies have since been merged out of existence.
