Peninsula Bank Names Executive

Peninsula Bank of San Diego hired Michael M. Lee as vice president and relationship development manager.

Mr. Lee had been the director of finance/operations at American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys Inc., San Diego. Before that he was an assistant vice president and commercial loan officer at Household Bank. Earlier he had been a lender at Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of America, and Western Savings and Loan in Phoenix.

The $418 million-asset Peninsula Bank also hired Philippe Covington as vice president and senior loan officer of the real estate services department and Harley L. Abshire as vice president and commercial loan officer.

Mr. Covington was vice president and department head of the real estate construction group at California Commerce Bank. He had also been a real estate consultant to the bank's international corporate department. Before that he was vice president and senior officer in change of other-real estate-owned at Union Bank of California.

Mr. Abshire had held similar lending titles with First National Bank in San Diego, and before that with Inland Empire National Bank in Fallbrook, Calif.
