PFA Financial Centers Inc. has installed Contour Software Inc.'s mortgage origination software in its retail locations that use video conferencing technology.

The system allows PFA's customer service representatives to assist prospective borrowers through the mortgage application process.

Charlotte, N.C.-based PFA has equipped customer service centers with Contour's Loan Handler and Loan Finder software to allow lenders to take applications and prequalify applicants in an on-line, real-time environment.

The software puts the information on a video screen so the data can be viewed as it is entered into the system.

"Using teleconferencing technology allows for a fundamental change in how mortgage loans are originated," said Scott Cooley, president of Campbell, Calif.-based Contour Software. "PFA's use of interactive communications significantly impacts the ability to quickly process information and supply on the spot reporting."
