PNC Bank Ohio Names Executives

PNC Bank Ohio, the Cincinnati unit of PNC Bank Corp., Pittsburgh, has promoted William D. Hummel to senior vice president and hired Paul L. Schneider as a vice president.

Mr. Hummel, who joined the bank in 1989, is the Cincinnati-Louisville group manager for commercial finance.

Mr. Schneider also holds the title of senior corporate banking representative in commercial finance. He was administrative vice president of corporate lending with Marine Midland Bank/HSBC Group in Cincinnati.

United States Trust Company of New York has promoted five people to managing director.

*David L. Vollmayer, who joined U.S. Trust in 1978, is head of private banking in the personal asset management and private banking group.

*Maureen Scannell Bateman, hired in 1990, is the general counsel, chief legal officer, and chief compliance officer.

*Jay Brian Springer, who joined U.S. Trust in 1983, oversees the early- life-cycle fund for trusts.

*Bernard W. Edelstein, who joined in 1974, oversees the systems development department of the computer science division.

*Geraldine M. McNamara, hired in 1982, oversees two private banking offices in New York.
