Prominent Economists To Speak in Chicago

CHICAGO - Three prominent Chicago economists will assess the banking crisis, the future of thrifts, and industry reform proposals at a seminar Wednesday sponsored by Loyola University.

Speaking will be Elijah Brewer, senior economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago; Richard S. Peterson, senior vice president and chief economist, Continental Bank; and George G. Kaufman, a professor at Loyola and chairman of the Shadow Financial Regulatory Committee.

The program, which is free, will begin at 5:15 p.m. on the second floor of Marquette Center on Loyola's Water Tower campus.
