Pulse Plans Rebate, Lower Switch Fees

HOUSTON - Pulse EFT Assocation, the electronic banking network, has announced plans to reduce switching fees and rebate $1.5 million of 1995's.

In the first quarter of 1996, rebate checks will be sent to each financial institution in the program.

Effective Jan. 1, the automated teller machine switch fee for Pulse transactions will be reduced from 5.5 cents to 5 cents. This fee change will reduce members' Pulse costs in the upcoming year by more than $561,000.

Also effective Jan. 1, acquirers will be paid 1.5 cents per transaction, up from 1 cent.

Pulse switch volume increased 30% and Pulse Pay point of sale volume 70% in the 12 months through October.
