SIMPLER REGISTRATION: Proposal by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to let banks follow most of the Securities and Exchange Commission rules on securities registration. Published June 28. Comments due Sept. 26.

OAKAR ASSESSMENTS: Proposal by the FDIC to change the formula it uses to calculate the thrift deposits owned by Oakar institutions. Published July 3. Comments due Sept. 3.

REGULATORY RELIEF: Proposal by the Office of Thrift Supervision to drop nine of the 33 rules governing how thrifts may operate. Published June 25. Comments due Aug. 28.

COLLATERALIZED LOANS: Proposal by the banking and thrift agencies to adopt a single method of calculating risk-based capital for collateralized loans. The new method would drop capital requirements for fully collateralized portions of loans. Expected to be published soon. Comments due 30 days later.

FARM CREDIT: Proposal by the Farm Credit Administration to loosen restrictions on who is eligible to borrow from the system and for what reason. Originally published Sept. 11. Expected to be re-published shortly. Comments due 30 days after publication.
