Republic First Of Phila. Hires Robert Duke for Delaware Unit

Republic First Bancorp in Philadelphia has hired Robert L. Duke 4th as chief commercial banking officer and an executive vice president of its new Republic First Bank of Delaware in North Wilmington.

He will report to Jere Young, president and chief executive officer at the $537 million-asset company and its banks.

Mr. Duke was a vice president in the corporate lending division at Wilmington Trust Co. for 10 years. Before that he worked 12 years for Delaware Trust Co.

Republic First Bank of Delaware opened its headquarters office in North Wilmington on June 1. A loan production office in downtown Wilmington is expected to open in September or October; Mr. Duke will be in charge of hiring more commercial lenders.
