Roundup: An Illinois Thrift Absorbs Iowa Affiliate

First Midwest Bancorp said it has completed the merger of its Davenport, Iowa-based thrift, Citizens Federal Savings Bank, into First Midwest Bank, its lead bank.

The holding company acquired the thrift in 1995 as its first interstate acquisition; the deal made it the largest financial institution in the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities market, with $600 million in assets, four offices in Illinois, and four in Iowa.

First Midwest Bancorp, with assets of $3.1 billion, has 47 offices - 43 in northern Illinois and 4 in eastern Iowa.
