ROUNDUP: GE Capital Acquiring Polish Bank from Chase

STAMFORD, Conn. - GE Capital Services said it has agreed to acquire Solidarnosc Chase DT Bank in Poland from Chase Enterprises for an undisclosed sum.

When the deal is completed, the bank will be renamed GE Capital Bank SA and will be based in Gdansk, Poland. It has assets of $21 million.

The bank will be primarily a consumer bank and will have nine branches in Poland's major cities, GE Capital said.

GE Capital Bank SA will offer a variety of personal, small-business, and auto loans, as well as retail and commercial deposit products, GE Capital said.

The sale is expected to be completed by the end of August, pending final approval from the National Bank of Poland and the Ministry of Finance. Upon closing, GE Capital Services will own 90% of the bank, while Chase Enterprises will maintain 10%.
