Roundup: Star Banc Launches Cincinnati Mall Branch

Star Banc Corp. has introduced an alternative delivery branch on the second level of the Kenwood Towne Centre Mall here.

The full-service branch, called Star Bank Express, was opened last week and offers PC banking, video banking, voice-activated banking services, screen phones, two ATMs, and two touch-screen computer kiosks.

The kiosks are set up to help customers with financial planning questions.

"We realize that some individuals want to make a quick trip to the bank, and we have developed Star Bank Express to fit these needs," said Richard K. Davis, executive vice president of Star Bank's consumer banking division.

Two officers will staff the branch, which will be open during regular mall hours.

In addition, customers with a special security card will be able to gain access to the branch's night depository, safe-deposit boxes, and coin and currency dispenser.

The video banking center inside Star Bank Express is the second of its kind for the company. The other such office is near the Ohio State University campus in Columbus.

Star Banc Corp., with $10.8 billion of assets, has 276 branches in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.
