Roundup: Thomas Cook to Offer Services in B of A Offices

Bank of America said it has formed a pilot program with travel specialist Thomas Cook to offer foreign exchange and foreign currency travelers checks in branches.

Bank of America's Powell Street branch in San Francisco and its Wilshire Boulevard office in Beverly Hills will be the first two locations to participate.

Bank of America said it would expect to offer Thomas Cook services in 50 of its branches by the end of next year if the program is successful.

Along with foreign travelers checks and currency exchange, the Thomas Cook network will provide international wires and drafts, travel insurance, U.S. currency travelers checks, and pre-paid phone cards.

BankAmerica Corp., the country's third-largest bank holding company, has $251 billion of assets and 2,000 branches.

Thomas Cook Worldwide Network has 3,000 locations in 100 countries.
