Roy Whitehead has been named president of the Colorado banks of First Interstate Bank, a unit of First Interstate Bancorp, Los Angeles.
He will oversee $1.27 billion-asset First Interstate Bank of Denver and the $150 million-asset bank in Englewood.
Mr. Whitehead is relocating from Florida, where he worked for First Union Corp. in Tampa and Fortune Bank in Clearwater.
At First Union, Mr. Whitehead was responsible for commercial, consumer, and private banking. Under his direction commercial deposits grew from $250 million to $850 million. At Fortune Bank, he managed the retail banking division of an institution with 46 branches in nine counties.
