Short Takes: 1st American Mixes Funds With Deposit Guaranty's

First American Corp., Nashville, has combined its proprietary mutual funds with those of Deposit Guaranty Corp.

First American bought Deposit Guaranty on May 1.

The ISG Funds, with nearly $3 billion of assets under management, replace First American's Ameristar Mutual Funds and Deposit Guaranty's DG Investor Series.

The combination allows in-vestors to move their money more easily between funds, a First American spokesman said. The 14-fund family includes equity, taxable and tax-exempt fixed income, and money market funds. Five funds of funds-combining ISG Funds-are to be introduced in January.

The ISG Funds are named after First American's Investment Services Group, which manages them. They are distributed by Bisys Fund Services, Little Falls, N.J.
