Short Takes: Deutsche Unit Hires Another Barclays Exec

another investment professional from Barclays Global Investors, its second this week.

Janet Campagna, 42, joined Deutsche Asset Management on Thursday as a managing director; she will head initiatives to manage global assets in several classes.

It is a newly created position, a spokeswoman said, and follows the appointment of Jim Creighton to lead Deutsche's global index management unit. Mr. Creighton, 49, will join Deutsche at the end of the month. He most recently was a managing director and global investment officer for indexing at Barclays.

Ms. Campagna led the portfolio management team responsible for all asset allocation strategies at Barclays.

Deutsche manages more than $300 billion of assets in the Americas.
