ITT Hartford Life Insurance Cos. has beefed up its variable life insurance product by tapping funds from Fidelity Investments.

The insurance company's Stag life offering now includes Fidelity's asset management portfolio, an equity income portfolio, and an international portfolio.

The Simsbury, Conn., company also tapped existing managers - Putnam Investments and Wellington Management - for additional portfolios. Putnam added a government bond fund and the New Opportunities equity fund, and Wellington added a dividend and growth fund.

With the additions, there are 22 investment options in the variable life insurance product, whose return is linked to the performance of the underlying funds.
