Short Takes: Northern Trust Bolsters Investment, Wealth Units

Northern Trust Corp. named five senior vice presidents last week in its investment and wealth management units.

In global investment management services, the company promoted Jon D. Brorson, 40, head of institutional investment management; Peter Flood, 40, head of municipal fixed income management; and Mark J. Wirth, 35, head of taxable fixed income.

Waltraud Hardy, 58, who is running a special client servicing and technology project in the personal financial services unit, was named senior vice president at Northern's Nov. 18 board of directors meeting.

Along with his promotion, Stephen R. Bell, 37, was transferred to run sales and marketing in Northern's wealth management group. A longtime employee, Mr. Bell most recently served as director of banking for Northern Trust Bank of California, where he worked since 1990.

Chicago-based Northern Trust, a $26.9 billion-asset company, provides financial services such as asset management, banking, custody, and treasury services for corporations, other institutional investors, and wealthy people. It has branches or offices in eight states and five foreign countries.
