Small N.J. bank hires a big-bank executive as its president

Boiling Springs Savings Bank in Rutherford, N.J., has hired its next leader.

The $1.7 billion-asset bank said in a press release Monday that it James Nesci had become its president. Nesci previously served as head of national sales for TD Bank's U.S. wealth management business.

Boiling Springs is the latest community bank to recruit an executive from a larger financial institution. Live Oak Bancshares in Wilmington, N.C., announced last week that it was hiring a Goldman Sachs partner to run its bank.

Nesci will oversee Boiling Springs’ operations and look for ways to increase revenue, expand product offerings and put a strategic vision in place, the bank said.

Nesci has also worked at Provident Bank and Wilmington Trust. At TD Bank, Nesci was in charge of his group's marketing, private client lending, mass-affluent products, institutional services, personnel development and data and analytics.

“Boiling Springs looks forward to flourishing under Jim’s stewardship,” Kenneth Grimbilas, Boiling Springs' chairman, said in the release. “We are confident that his leadership and business acumen will further strengthen our already excellent relationships with customers, as well as forge fruitful new partnerships.”
