NationsBank Corp. and three technology suppliers have expanded the smart card program for fans attending Carolina Panthers football games.

The 1998 FanCash cards can be bought in $10, $20, $25, $50, and $100 denominations for refreshment and merchandise purchases at Ericsson Stadium. The stored value cards come in six designs to appeal to collectors; four of the cards form a puzzle.

A new inventory and payment system has been installed with smart card readers at every cash register.

NationsBank, which introduced smart cards at the stadium in 1996, worked with the Schlumberger Smart Cards and Terminals group and the point of sale vendor Verifone Inc.

Precis Smart Card Systems Inc. of Oklahoma City supplied its PrecisCache software.
