SocGen Announces More Security Fixes

Given the magnitude of the systemic risk management failure at Societe Generale, it qualifies as news when the French bank touts which vendors it’ll be using to help clean up the mess that Jerome Kerviel exploited to the tune of $7.6 billion.

The latest: SocGen will pilot Centrify Corp.’s access control and identity management solution to optimize the efficiency and manageability of its UNIX and Linux-based computing systems. The goal of the pilot is to allow SocGen to “further optimize its IT management control by leveraging its existing, robust Active Directory infrastructure and to centrally administer user accounts and access control for its UNIX and Linux server systems in addition to its window systems.”
