Spare Change: Tech Outfit's Promo Seeks Stellar Teller

A promotion by a New Mexico software company puts real live tellers at center stage.

More Inc. of Albuquerque is asking banking companies to nominate a teller of the year. The company says nearly 100 banks, ranging from the top echelon to a one-branch operation, use its Windows-based teller software, but any bank can make a nomination.

The winner, to be announced in July at the FutureBank Expo in Dallas, will get $1,000 and be featured in a More advertisement. The winner's bank is to get a $1,000 credit toward a More product..

Stephen McCampbell, More's founder and president, said tellers are the "unsung heroes" of banking.

"As the front-line representative the teller is in many respects the most important professional in the bank," he said in a press release."It takes more than just an outstanding teller system to provide superior customer service and job performance."

Contest rules and an entry form appear on www.moreinc.com. The deadline is May 19.
