WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Prodigy Services Co. has enlisted five credit unions to post information on its new on-line bulletin board service aimed at the financial industry.
The credit unions are the first financial companies to sign on to the on-line service provider's latest information site, called the Money Talk Bulletin Board, which was launched Thursday.
Prodigy set up this service to give banks and other financial institutions a forum for posting news and advice on loan rates, rates of return on investment products, and specifics about other services.
The participating credit unions are: Patelco Credit Union of San Francisco, with $1.05 billion of assets; San Diego Teachers Credit Union of San Diego, with $264 million of assets; the Norton Credit Union of San Bernardino, Calif., with $126 million of assets; Sunfirst Credit Union of Syracuse, N.Y., with $25 million of assets; and Superior Credit Union of Collegeville, Pa., with $12 million of assets.
Prodigy, a partnership of International Business Machines Corp. and Sears, Roebuck and Co., has more than two million subscribers to its on- line service.
