Tech Bytes: CommerceNet Aligns With Research Firm

Giga Information Group, the technology research organization, said it has formed an alliance with CommerceNet to promote education, training, and business development in areas relating to digital commerce.

Among the first products of the relationship will be the Business Online Symposiums in London April 28-30 and San Francisco June 24-26. Arthur D. Little Inc. and Upside magazine are also co-sponsors.

"CommerceNet is dedicated to facilitating the growth of the digital marketplace and we see Giga as a powerful ally in that mission," said Jay M. Tenenbaum, president of the California-based consortium of banks and others promoting Internet commerce.

Gay Slesinger, vice president of Giga, called CommerceNet "a spawning ground for new business opportunities" and said the two organizations "share the goal of educating the marketplace about the evolution of electronic commerce."
